Questions

How is rating age worked out?

It is the time between the date the CQC published a service’s current overall rating and 9 October 2026. Services that have not been rated under their current registration are not included.

Does an old rating mean a service hasn’t been checked?

Not necessarily. The CQC monitors services between inspections and prioritises visits where it sees risk, and some services have had inspections that did not produce a new rating. Always read the latest report and ask the provider directly.

Where does the data come from?

The Care Quality Commission’s public register, refreshed weekly. Contains CQC data © Care Quality Commission, used under the Open Government Licence.
