Official NHS England figures for August 2026: how many patients are waiting for hospital treatment, how many have waited 18 weeks or less and how many more than a year, for every provider NHS England reports, and for each specialty in England.
England figures are the sum of what the 532 providers submitted for August 2026. NHS England also publishes separate adjustments for providers that did not submit; Docorix has not applied them. Cancer waiting times: NHS England also publishes how many patients met the Faster Diagnosis, 31-day and 62-day cancer standards. See cancer waiting times by provider.
NHS England counts incomplete pathways: in its words, βwaiting times for cases where patients are still waiting to start treatment at the end of the monthβ. Each pathway runs from a referral for consultant-led care to the start of treatment, so one patient can appear more than once if they are waiting for more than one thing. NHS.uk gives β18 weeksβ as the maximum waiting time for non-urgent, consultant-led treatment (NHS.uk guide to waiting times).
These are figures about the waiting list, not a forecast of how long a new patient will wait, and they do not cover urgent or cancer care, which NHS England reports separately. A trustβs waiting times can differ widely between specialties, so the specialty tables are usually more useful than the totals. Trusts are listed A to Z; Docorix does not rank them, because trusts differ in size, in the specialties they offer and in the patients they treat. Ask your GP or use the NHS e-Referral Service to see which hospitals can see you and how long each is currently taking.
Treatment functions as NHS England groups them, A to Z; open one to see every provider that reports it. βOtherβ rows combine the smaller specialties NHS England reports together.
