Right to Choose in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire: ADHD and autism

NHS Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Integrated Care Board is the NHS body that plans and pays for health services in Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. This page sets out what it publishes about NHS Right to Choose for ADHD and autism assessments.

Docorix read the board’s page on 9 October 2026. The page says its provider table “was last updated on 30 June 2026”. It is written for clinicians. Everything below is what the board says, not something Docorix has checked: boards change these pages without notice, and a provider being listed does not mean it is taking referrals now. Confirm with your GP and the provider before you rely on it.

What the board says

Activity plans
The board says it has introduced Indicative Activity Plans for providers of autism and ADHD assessment, including Right to Choose providers. These set the level of activity commissioned from each provider for the financial year.
Right to Choose remains available
The board says that when a provider reaches the limit of its plan it will be unable to book assessments for new patients during that financial year, but will continue to accept new referrals and place new patients on a waiting list. This may mean a longer wait.
“Paused” on a provider’s website
The board says it is aware of some provider websites listing referrals from specific areas as “paused” or “restricted”, and that it is not able to mandate the wording providers use.
Not a right to a referral
The board says Right to Choose is a right to choose a service provider, not a right to a referral: the GP must agree that assessment is right for the patient.
Waiting times
The board says it is unable to provide information on waiting times for Right to Choose providers, and that there is no national dashboard for ADHD and autism services.
Shared care
A Right to Choose provider may not integrate with local pathways. The board says this may mean the GP is unable to accept shared care and the patient may have to remain with the provider for ongoing monitoring and medication.
Locally commissioned
The board says Clinical Partners are commissioned to provide ADHD and autism services for children, young people and adults in its area.

Providers named in the board’s summary table

The board’s table also marks which services each provider offers, and a spreadsheet on its page gives referral details and exclusions. Docorix shows the names only: use the board’s page for what each one offers.

The board’s own page

“Website” is the address an NHS board publishes for that provider. A Docorix listing is shown where the official register has the same operator or the same website – it carries the name of the provider’s registered premises, so it can read differently from the provider’s trading name. A dash means none was found. Docorix is not part of the NHS and cannot make or speed up a referral. Your board is the one that covers your GP practice – if you are not sure which that is, ask your practice.
