Right to Choose in Devon: ADHD and autism

NHS Devon Integrated Care Board is the NHS body that plans and pays for health services in Devon, Plymouth and Torbay. This page sets out what it publishes about NHS Right to Choose for ADHD and autism assessments.

Docorix read the board’s page on 9 October 2026. The page says “Updated: October 2026”. It is written for GPs. Everything below is what the board says, not something Docorix has checked: boards change these pages without notice, and a provider being listed does not mean it is taking referrals now. Confirm with your GP and the provider before you rely on it.

What the board says

Waiting time
The page says Right to Choose providers have been asked to support a minimum 14-week waiting time from GP referral to first appointment or assessment, with a potential maximum waiting time of 52 weeks.
No funding request needed
Where the Right to Choose criteria apply, GPs can refer direct to the provider chosen by the patient, without an individual funding request to NHS Devon.
Shared care is voluntary
Entering into a shared care agreement is voluntary for GPs. The page says there is no “Devon” shared care agreement with the national providers in the second list below.

Other providers the page names: ADHD, children

Listed by the board as Right to Choose providers with contracts with other boards, accepting referrals. No Devon shared care agreement is in place with them.

The board’s own page

“Website” is the address an NHS board publishes for that provider. A Docorix listing is shown where the official register has the same operator or the same website – it carries the name of the provider’s registered premises, so it can read differently from the provider’s trading name. A dash means none was found. Docorix is not part of the NHS and cannot make or speed up a referral. Your board is the one that covers your GP practice – if you are not sure which that is, ask your practice.
